JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 21179 POSITION SUMMARY The Business Process Specialist provides support for the Human Resources System (HRS), Shared Financial System (SFS) or other related systems and business processes at the University of Wisconsin System Service Operations. We are currently recruiting to fill TWO Business Process Specialist positions that are considered fixed-term terminal with an expected job end date of 12/31/2025. The Business Process Specialists will support the following area: HR Service Delivery: This functional team focuses on tasks related to the HR areas. Tasks include, but are not limited to, HRS transactions including troubleshooting, correction and processing, Talent Acquisition Management, job posting assistance, eperformance management support, criminal background check, general reference check and sexual harassment reference check program management and other duties in support of HR transaction processing and HR projects. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Technology process support of the Human Resource System (HRS) and related operations, focused on Benefits, Human Resources and Payroll. Support multiple processing activities including entering exception transactions, performing auditing and validations, and troubleshooting customer issues. Analyze and perform complex entries and corrections within HRS and related systems. Research and interpret UW Policies, regulations, statutes and develop procedures for application within the system and related business processes. Assist with the implementation of these changes. Recommend and promote changes in the system and related business processes as needed to stay current and enhance operations. Work cross-functionally with other team members as needed. Participate in development of testing, training, and reporting requirements. Create, organize, review and update training materials and business process documentation. Understand processes related to the position\'s specified area of expertise. Manage records associated with tasks and adhere to appropriate records retention policies. WORK LOCATION The office location is located at 660 West Washington Avenue in Madison, WI. This position has an in-office requirement of three days per week. The remaining 2 days may be worked remote/off-site. Telecommuting agreements are subject to change at any time. Submit your application. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for this position, applicants must have: Associate degree OR minimum of 2 years professional work experience in Payroll, Benefits, Business Services or Human Resources (e.g. payroll processing, auditing, accounts payable, employee lifecycle processing within a HRIS system, applicant tracking system, etc.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Well qualified applicants will also have a substantial amount of experience in a combination of the following: Human Resources work experience including recruitment, onboarding, classification, compensation, and/or p rformance management, etc. Experience providing customer support to end users Experience using and providing assistance to users in Workday Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgement skills Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel experience Query and/or SQL experience Experience working in a public sector or university setting Experience working with diverse populations ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: www.careers.wisconsin.edu
