JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the field of mental health and social inequalities beginning in August 2025. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment and tenure home in the Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work, will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, will engage in scholarly research, and will participate in university and professional service. Research areas of interest include the social determinants of mental health; racial/ethnic disparities in mental health outcomes, services, and treatment; and/or the impact of trauma on marginalized populations. Research may also connect to gender-based inequalities, disabilities, a life course perspective, and/or incarceration, with an emphasis on highlighting systemic issues in mental health outcomes, and access to service and treatment for marginalized groups. The successful candidate will advance the educational mission of the College of Letters & Science, that values, prioritizes, and actualizes evidence-based and student-centered teaching and student mentoring. Our understanding of mentoring is expansive and includes a wide range of practices, such as: offering undergraduate research opportunities, advising graduate students, connecting students with professional networks, creating an inclusive learning environment, offering culturally responsive guidance and support, facilitating peer mentorship initiatives, and other activities. They will contribute to an inclusive, fair, and equitable environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff, students and members of the broader community.
