JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to fill a new faculty position with research applicable to net zero remote equipment for mobile off-road applications. This position is part of the RISE-EARTH Initiative. Applications at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level will be considered. The department is interested in candidates whose research can address fundamental challenges in energy storage, energy conversion, and utilization (e.g., greenhouse gas emissions) for applications requiring high power and / or long duration operation. Applicants with research focused on computational modeling or experimental techniques addressing research topics in chemical, mechanical, and electrochemical energy systems are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will be interested in collaborative work with existing centers and faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and throughout campus. Candidates who transcend the traditional boundaries of Mechanical Engineering to incorporate insights from Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and other related disciplines to address high impact societal problems related to the areas described above are especially encouraged to apply.
