Robert Half is working with a well-respected company, whose business manufactures and sells building supplies, to find an Accounting Supervisor who can own the accounting process for the company. This role prepares and reviews financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, assists with budgets and forecasts, and supervises the AR, AP, and invoicing team members. Candidates with experience in construction and/or manufacturing are preferred, as well as possessing strong analytical skills and a preference for challenging and fast-paced work environments. The company is looking for someone who can lead process improvement and bring forward some more out of date processes. This role is located in Madison, Wisconsin and boasts excellent compensation and benefits and offers potential for advancement.

Your responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial statements and reports

  • Develop forecasting models, budgets, and manage the company’s cashflow cycle

  • Lead and supervise the full-cycle accounting process including AP, AR, and invoicing.

  • Account Reconciliation and period close.

  • Monthly review and explanation of financial results with key executives

    Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a supervisory capacity

• Proficient in all accounting functions including but not limited to Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated knowledge of full cycle accounting

• Proven experience with accounting software systems, including recommendations for software updates

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team

• Ability to drive process improvement initiatives in the accounting department

• Experience in financial statement preparation

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

• Knowledge of current accounting regulations and standards.
