Join Hiebing’s Accounting & Finance team as an Accounting Specialist! This role is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be an essential part of our “We Before Me” culture, supporting the team with various accounting and administrative tasks.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform timely and accurate entry of: 

  • Monthly client billing 

  • Purchase orders 

  • Accounts Payables 

  • Postage & color printer logs 

  • Vendor W-9s 

  • Compile and prepare monthly financial statements and reports 

  • Record client payments in accounts receivable and generate monthly A/R statements for client teams  

  • Track and reconcile petty cash accounts, ensuring all transactions are documented and discrepancies are promptly addressed 

  • Run, review and interpret financial reports as requested  

  • Assist employees, vendors, clients and customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures and services 

  • Prepare and send receipt copies to clients as needed 

  • Open agency numbers and track job numbers, ensuring accurate sales classification, job type and sales tax markings  

  • Monitor and resolve issues with overpayments, duplicate payments, and delinquent accounts 

  • Complete and maintain credit applications 

  • Maintain organized accounts payable files 

  • Organize and maintain files and documentation in line with company policy and accounting standards 

  • Perform all other duties as assigned  

Qualifications: 

  • Associate's degree in accounting, preferred; in the absence of a degree, at least 4 years of professional accounting experience required 

  • At least 2 years of experience in general accounting 

  • Intermediate skills in spreadsheet software (i.e. Microsoft Excel) 

  • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-faced environment 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage data entry accurately and efficiently, with strong attention to detail while handling multiple competing demands 

  • An ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing across functional areas 

  • Ability to work hybrid in an open-office environment 

  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
