We are searching for a highly skilled technician to assist with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of the telecommunications transport network that supports the Cooperative's electric transmission system. As a Digital Communications Systems Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our microwave radio, MPLS routers, and fiber optic systems.This position is subject to emergency call-in and has a residency requirement to live within 35 miles of Madison, South Dakota. [At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area. As a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative, we provide electricity to 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally owned electric system serving eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Configure, install, and maintain microwave radio, MPLS routers, ethernet transport equipment, Sonet and TDM multiplexers, and associated devices.

Install and maintain alarm RTU equipment, DC power systems, towers, tower lighting, and antenna systems.

Prepare and splice optical ground wire and buried fiber.

Aid in the operation of all network management systems.
