BrightFarms Maintenance Technician Level I in Macon, Georgia
Job purpose / summary / objective
Ensures all work is carried out in a safe and orderly manner. Complies with protocols and documentation as related to OSHA and food safety. Regularly inspect buildings, grounds, machines, and equipment to identify potential issues. Performs preventive maintenance on plant equipment to keep in good running order. Assist in troubleshooting problems, and perform minor mechanical repairs to minimize downtime. Work collaboratively with Operations Team to share knowledge and contribute to a Continuous Improvement environment. Protect the company's investment in machinery and equipment by exercising proper care, skill and knowledge in the use of Company investments.
General Knowledge and Skills
- Some familiarity of CMMS for completion of work orders, maintaining records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
- Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system drawings, process, and instrument Diagrams (PandID's), schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
- Performs all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeeping.
- Capable of working from ladders, and scaffolding in a safe manner.
- Capable of operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) (fork truck, aerial lift, etc.) Willing to be certified through Bright Farms Training
- Work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist completing automated and non-automated equipment and system repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
- Perform required preventative maintenance tasks for automated and non-automated equipment.
- Assist in the diagnosis, of the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of equipment or systems.
- Complete minor repairs or assist in the replacement defective components.
- Basic Knowledge in the use of electrical diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, amp clamps and meggers to test electrical circuits and components to locate shorts, faulty connections, defective parts and replaces or repairs to suite.
- Assist in the disassembly, replacing or repairing mechanical and electrical components.
- Participate in efforts to improve existing equipment and systems to reduce safety issues, improve process flow, and reduce downtime.
- Must be able to work overtime if required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 0-2 years of experience in equipment maintenance, or machine operation
- Ability to work any shift, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Climb steps.
- Lift 50 pounds and maintain balance.
- Ability to perform duties in extreme varying temperatures.
- Crawl over, under and into equipment within company LOTO procedures as necessary to perform job duties.
- Work from ladders and lifts.
Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required
Greenhouse/Outside/Coolers/Office. Maintenance will have exposure to seasonal conditions which may range from extreme heat and humidity in the summer to cold in the winter. Often Work near moving mechanical parts including in the vicinity of occasional high noise environments is required.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are expected to sometimes use hands to finger, handle or feel. Frequently standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. The lifting requirements to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. The employee should have clear correctable vision at close and distance range, as well as peripheral vision to notice safety hazards.
