Mackinaw Seasonal Resorts, Inc. located in Mackinaw City, MI has 42 openings for full time temporary Housekeepers, $15.06 to $18.95/hr. ($22.59 to $28.43 /hr. O.T.) from 4/10/2025 to 11/8/2025. Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts. Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met. Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers. Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary. Dust and polish furniture and equipment. Disinfect equipment and supplies, using germicides or steam-operated sterilizers. Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors. Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets. Sort clothing and other articles, load washing machines, and iron and fold dried items. Assign duties to other staff and give instructions regarding work methods and routines. Move and arrange furniture and turn mattresses. Answer telephones and doorbells. Replace light bulbs. Deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guests' rooms. Hang draperies and dust window blinds. Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive. Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions. Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas. Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware. Polish silver accessories and metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings. Clean facilities or sites. Inventory materials or equipment. Move materials, equipment, or supplies. Clean equipment or supplies. Clean building walls or flooring. Dispose of trash or waste materials. Monitor building premises to ensure occupant or visitor safety. Clean furniture or fixtures. Operate garment treatment equipment. Sort materials or products. Instruct staff in work policies or procedures. Move furniture. Answer telephones to direct calls or provide information. Maintain equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning. No experience in housekeeping required. Must be able to lift, push pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
The days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling and the level of business and based on room rentals the prior night but will generally be 6 days per week with rotating days off. The business is open 7 days per week, Friday-Thursday (including Saturday and Sunday). Examples of daily work schedules include: 9:30am-3:45pm, 3:45pm -- 10:00pm, approximately an average of 37.5 hours per week over the course of expected employment term with some occasional overtime during busy times. Weekend, holiday, and night work will be required. Must be available to work all shifts. If required by prevailing law the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Raises and bonuses available based on performance or length of service with the employer. In addition to the hourly wage, housekeepers may from time to time receive tips directly from guests.
