Job Description
We are seeking a skilled welder proficient in MIG welding, capable of multitasking between welding and other fabrication tasks. You will work from engineering drawings and Bill of Materials to fabricate and weld components. This role requires adjusting the welder to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel and operating various tools and equipment including welders, grinders, drills, hand/power tools, measuring devices, overhead cranes, and forklifts (if certified). Welders may work in either Panel Welding, which involves basic straight line welding, or Tank Welding, which requires vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding.
Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on various steel components.
Multitask between welding and other fabrication tasks.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and Bill of Materials.
Adjust welding equipment to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including grinders and drills.
Use measuring devices to ensure accuracy.
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts if certified.
Work in either Panel Welding or Tank Welding departments as needed.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in MIG welding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience in fabrication.
Certification in welding (D1-1 required for Tank Welders, D1-3 is a bonus).
Experience with heavier gauge, galvanized steel processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Forklift certification (preferred).
Experience with operating overhead cranes.
Ability to perform vertical, horizontal, and overhead welding.

Work Environment
The work environment includes clean facilities with all necessary tools provided. There are multiple shifts available: Panel Welders work on 3rd shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM + OT) at the Marlin Building, while Tank Welders have 1st shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM + OT) and 3rd shift (6:00 PM – 2:30 AM + OT) at the North facility. The facility remains well-ventilated, particularly during summer, with open doors to maintain airflow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.45
