The Opportunity:

CACI has immediate openings for Senior Systems Engineers at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

The Systems Engineer works closely with a team of dedicated, multi-disciplined professionals to support customer mission objectives. You'll work on Developing, Engineering, and Fielding hardware and software solutions and services directly supporting the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM). You will collaborate with coworkers, partners, stakeholders, and users to create effective solutions, providing delivery and support for next-generation technologies across a wide range of services and emerging capabilities that bridge the gap between traditional networks and systems, cloud computing technologies, and other emerging technologies. We are specifically looking for someone with exceptional knowledge in Systems (Microsoft & Linux), including Server architecture, AD services, and GPO development.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineer’s key responsibilities include:

  • Test all hardware, software, patches, configuration changes, STIGs, and new system deployments for compatibility, functionality, and cybersecurity compliance with production and exercise network requirements prior to deployment.

  • Build, configure, and test all server images before deployment onto production networks. These images will include all required applications, drivers, problem fixes, security updates, and other components required for proper functionality and security compliance.

  • Provide test reports and special deployment instructions and contribute to all service, system, and cybersecurity documentation for system design documents, test plans, version description documents, engineering requirements matrix, and software/hardware testing documents.

  • Develop solutions to optimize the organization's systems infrastructure through PowerShell automation.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that align with command requirements.

  • Overseeing the deployment and configuration of servers, virtual machines, and networking devices in production and test environments.

  • Ensure deployed solutions comply with all applicable security policies, regulations, and best practices.

  • Work as a reliable team member to guide junior engineers and team members, facilitating a stronger foundational understanding of the systems that enable our operations.

  • Provide enterprise solutions and Tier-III support for Windows Server domains, including, but not limited to, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, Sites and Services, Domain and Trusts, and Certificate Lifecycle Management.

  • Tune system performance and maintain system/service documentation.

  • Integrate and test domain-wide software / implementing critical system patches.

  • Interact with customers and stakeholders to evaluate vendor products and to develop functional requirements for enhancements and changes.

  • Interface with third-party vendors for troubleshooting calls.

  • Work directly with the Operations team to assist in scheduling, planning, and overseeing system upgrades.

  • Write and implement group policies with proper scoping and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and remediate a variety of systems issues that may not have previously documented solutions (Incident/Problem Management)

  • Review and prepare documentation for systems, tests, and process guides.

  • Support projects for various initiatives to enhance the efficiency, capability, or security of the environment.

  • Collaborate with other enterprise IT teams to address operational requirements.

  • Produce various data sets and informational packets to management to support ongoing efforts for process improvements.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Top Secret Clearance required. Ability to obtain and hold TS/SCI.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years’ experience in advanced Systems Administration (Tier-III Support), Systems Engineering, or Systems Architecture.

  • Alternatively, we accept HS/GED with 8 years relevant experience, an AA/AS with 6 years relevant experience, or an MS with 2 years relevant experience.

  • Applicable DoD 8140/DoD 8570 compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+)

  • In-depth knowledge and experience working with Windows and Linux-based Operating Systems and software.

  • Experience and knowledge of system and software interoperability requirements and dependencies.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation of repetitive systems tasks.

  • Strong background in troubleshooting and resolving server performance, security, and availability issues.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Prior experience in the writing and implementation of Group Policies related to the use of computing resources and to address security vulnerabilities as they are discovered.

  • Ability to review, modify, and prepare comprehensive documentation for Windows and Linux-based systems and services, such as system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.

Desired:

  • Microsoft Windows Hybrid Administrator or similar Windows infrastructure certification.

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher certification.

  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification

  • Prior experience configuring and optimizing storage solutions (Dell, NetApp, etc.)

  • Prior experience with systems integration and working under strict deadlines.

  • Prior experience supporting cloud environments for a globally dispersed enterprise.

  • Previous experience at USCENTCOM (or other COCOM) and familiarity with its mission.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with USCENTCOM’s IT environment

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$85,000 - $178,600
