Job Description:

Cloud Engineer / Architect

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Engineer / Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, cloud services, and the ability to lead technical projects to deliver robust cloud solutions. This role will involve developing and executing the strategy for cloud adoption and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Architecture Design : Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures on Azure platform.

  • Cloud Strategy Development : Develop and implement a cloud strategy that aligns with business objectives and ensures a smooth transition to the cloud.

  • Automation & Optimization : Create and maintain automation scripts for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Security & Compliance : Implement best practices for cloud security, including identity and access management, data protection, and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with software development, operations, and security teams to ensure cloud solutions are integrated effectively.

  • Cost Management : Optimize cloud spend through effective management of cloud resources and services.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and architects, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering and architecture, with a proven track record of designing and implementing cloud solutions.

  • Skills:

    • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
    • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like BICEP, Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
    • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
    • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like ACS, Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Strong leadership and project management skills.
    • Strong Agile skills and management tooling exposure
    • Ability to speak/report on cloud efforts publicly and speak extemporaneously
    • Understand DevSecOps/DevOps processes and principles.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Azure Certifications 104 or higher, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification in Azure or Google Cloud.

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).

  • Security +, CASP. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other relevant security certifications.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
