Absco Solutions is the premier facility vulnerability expert in fire life-safety and security technology fields, with established offices in Washington (Everett, Lynnwood, Fife, Spokane) and Oregon (Wilsonville).  We specialize in access control, intrusion, video surveillance, and fire alarm.  We're seeking a growth-minded experienced IT Systems Field Technician to join our exceptional team.

Job Summary

This role requires a highly skilled and technical individual within the Information Technology and Infrastructure areas. They will ensure Absco’s: expertise, reputation, and ability to provide IT solutions to external and internal customers.  The position provides IT, technical and customer support for Absco in our Everett, Lynnwood, and Fife offices in WA, and our Wilsonville office in OR.  This position reports directly to the Everett Field Operations Manager. This is not a remote, work-from-home role. It requires time spent on customer sites and at our office locations.

Responsibilities and Duties

IT Operations and Support

  • Become a subject matter expert on Absco-specific applications including such systems as video surveillance, access control, intrusion, and digital communications.

  • Obtain factory certification on Absco-supported systems.

  • Provide on-site and remote IT customer support for system installations and integration requirements on-site and remotely, utilizing SQL, Server, and IP networking skills.

  • Support the field technicians with pre/job deployment of IT equipment.

  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of IT products as directed.

  • Troubleshoot IT-related issues for both hardware and software needs.

  • Interface with vendors to troubleshoot equipment, firmware, and software issues

  • Executes many of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and on-going technical support etc.

  • Works with team members and customers to provide strategic account support. May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation

    IT Systems Design

  • Attend sales walks with the Absco Sales Team and provide IT knowledge on system design

  • Assists the Sales Team with developing proposals and designs for sales proposals. Provides more complex technical advice as required for system planning

  • Provide customer training on Absco Supported products

  • Enhance our Learning Management System (LMS) by updating training for both internal and external users

  • Strong general knowledge which includes architecture and ability to configure IP networking protocols and security

  • Support Sales Team in responding to pricing referrals and designing, specifying, and quoting systems

  • Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties

  • Collaborate with the Technical Support team in providing post-sales support to customers

    What You'll Bring  

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Traveling to various locations to resolve issues on site.

  • Experience with Windows, Windows Server, SQL Server, VM environments, and networking platforms.

  • Uses troubleshooting, logical processing, and problem-solving skills to resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

  • SQL query writing experience and IT certifications desired.

  • Experience in consultation, design, implementation, training, and services for external and internal customers within the IT area.

  • Experience providing clear and precise training.

  • Able to travel for the purpose of obtaining factory training certifications relevant to the low voltage, life-safety, or security industry.
