Description

The Eliot CCS(Community Crisis Stabilization) program is a short term residential diversionary level of care consisting of daily multidisciplinary rounds with a RNP, group treatment, case management, referral support, and aftercare planning.

Eliot's Community Crisis Stabilization provides assessment and treatment delivering short term 24 hour treatment for adults in a structured and supportive environment. CCS provides person-centered stabilization and support of individuals in psychiatric distress in the least restrictive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the prescriber for the CCS program.

• Conduct comprehensive assessment and prescribe psychotropic medications and monitor therapeutic effectiveness and side effects of medications as appropriate.

• Direct and collaborate with members of relevant teams within CBHC Teams, Urgent Care, and CCS services to maintain and supervise the psychopharmacologic and medical treatment and procedures regarding consumer care where applicable

• Provide education to clients on all aspects of their medications. Obtain informed consent. Order and monitor required lab work per protocol.

• Provide education regarding conditions, symptoms, risks, complications, and benefits of treatment participation regarding medical conditions as indicated.

• Order and monitor blood chemistry profiles as indicated. Provide education regarding conditions, symptoms, risks, complications, and benefits of treatment participation regarding medical conditions as indicated.

• Ensure that teams focus on developing interventions that embrace consumer/family preferences, are evidence based and utilize cultural/community resources.

• Support the teams and services in stressing independence and strength-based interventions in order to assist consumers/families in their goals.

• Promote cultures of hope and recovery throughout all services elements. Ensure that consumers/families feel that their goals are supported, and they can achieve their goals with team support.

Qualifications:

• Holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited university/college and is currently licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing to practice as a licensed Nurse Practitioner and is registered to practice as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

• Maintains a valid registration(s) to issue written oral prescriptions or medication orders for controlled substances from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration. Maintains current malpractice/liability insurance.

• Experience in acute psychiatric care required.

• Meets third party and Department of Public Health clinic regulations for reimbursability. Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.

Schedule: Friday, 8am-3pm

Compensation: $64.90/hour
