ICP Group Industrial Maintenance Technician, Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia

ICP Group is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. The Maintenance Technician provides technical expertise and maintains mechanical equipment such as pumps, agitators, chillers, compressors, piping, valves, switches, starters, relays, and sensors at two sites in Lynchburg, VA. In this position, you will be a critical member of our maintenance team requiring independent judgement, communication, and participation. We foster mutual respect with all involved to determine the means to accomplish implementation of desired changes for process improvement, regulatory compliance, and other various needs to support daily plant operations. 

This position's main goal is to create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our customers and staff by keeping all facilities in proper and professional condition. Success can be seen in our customers, partners, and by employee feedback. Other successes include reduced equipment and facility downtime, and timely and economical project completions. 

The schedule is 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 8 hours per shift, with occasional weekend work required. Able to work overtime, including weekends, when required. 

In this role you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance actions by using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), automated building controls systems and standard office software to manage buildings and to perform required administrative work.  

  • Manage and monitor inventory supplies and records through the CMMS system. 

  • Adheres to all applicable safety standards and promotes a safe work environment by attending safety meetings, required training and by addressing all safety concerns.  

Experience needed: 

  • High School Diploma / GED with Tradesman or equivalent experience. Associate’s degree preferred or course work in mechanical or electrical technology not limited to Hydraulic Circuits, Blueprint reading, Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical circuits.  

  • Minimum five years of experience in manufacturing maintenance - Machine Repair and Maintenance experience. A combination of experience and certification will be considered. 

  • Mechanical skills and experience: basic and general maintenance, burning and welding operations, predictive maintenance skills, plumbing, rigging, shop equipment and machining operations. Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings and manufacturer’s manuals. 

  • Electrical skills and experience: ability to understand relay logic, electrical schematics, perform electrical troubleshooting/testing on 110-480 VAC single and three-phase circuits and 24 VDC circuits, VFDs, PLCs and human-machine interface equipment. Ability to read/interpret electrical drawings/schematics and manufacturer’s manuals. Experience with AC/DC motors and drives, thermocouples, HVAC, and reversing starters. Conduit threading, bending installation, wiring installation, electronic repair skills. 

Familiarity with CMMS, Predictive Maintenance Techniques, Continuous Improvement Programs, and Root Cause Analysis. 

Environment: 

  • The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, combustible dust fumes or airborne particles, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. 

  • Individuals may be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment such as: Respirators, FR Clothing, Chemical Resistant Gloves, Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear, Face shield, etc. 

  • Ability to work closely with chemicals or bio-substances found in the laboratory or production facilities.
