TEKsystems Desktop Support Technician in Lumberton, North Carolina

Description:

  • Main duties include hardware support, set up of work stations, support for WOWs (Workstation on wheels - carts with computers installed) mostly used by physicians.

  • Provide support for connectivity issues, break/fix tickets, and some remote support.

  • Our client always has some IT projects going on, such as, hardware refreshes, domain collapse, deployments, migrations, et.

  • Printer set up, configuration and support is part of day-to-day duties as well as some inventory management like ordering new PCs and parts and shipping old ones. Zebra printers experience is a plus.

  • Our client is a windows 10 environment, great understanding of Win 10 is required, exposure to Windows 11 with SCCM or automated software is a big plus.

  • Experience imaging devices - mass imaging is done daily at the hospitals and other locations.

  • Active Directory experience - manage permissions, adding and removing users/devices.

Environment:

Our client uses ServiceNow as their ticketing system, Bomgar for remote support, they have desktops and VDI, use Empravada for badge access, Citrix environment, Active Directory and all their hospitals use EPIC. They are planning migrating to Windows 11 soon, currently working on upgrading obsolete hardware to meet Win11CPU and hardware requirements before the upgrade is pushed through SCCM.

This is a first shift role, M-F 8am to 5pm, sits on site at the hospital and will commute to surrounding clinics for support, the clinics are not more than 15 minutes away.

There's an expectation for this person to fulfill On-Call hours once they get acclimated, the On-Call rotation doesn't happen more than twice every two months. They will have a dedicated space, laptop for work that they can take home when On Call. When On Call, there's the expectation to reply to tickets within 30 min. If a ticket goes unassigned for an hour, a notification will be send to next line of support (manager or director depending on who is available). In the case they have to show up in the hospital while on call, this time will paid at time and a half.
