Job Title: Utility Technician

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Utility Technician is to maintain the excellent condition and functionality of the equipment and facility. Duties include daily equipment checks, facility repairs and general maintenance, troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and managing outside service contracts.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Daily inspection of chillers, air compressors, pumps, filters, frequency drives.

  • Ability to read and use schematics, manuals, technical drawings, work orders, etc.

  • Able to work with and assist the maintenance techs in repairs and troubleshooting if needed.

  • Arrive early for plant startups and shutdowns.

  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.

  • Maintain and create procedures and maintain a knowledge of the processes and materials utilized in the manufacture of products in the cable industry.

  • Develop and maintain a level of professionalism in verbal and written communication with internal and external customers/suppliers.

  • Perform other duties as designated by the direct supervisor and engineering management.

  • Under direction of supervisor, be available to work overtime assignments as required to fulfill the position requirements and responsibilities.

  • Communicate information and create reports as needed to the maintenance supervisor.

  • Able to identify needed spare parts.

  • 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday
