WATER and SEWER UTILITIES - Crew Leader II
DESCRIPTION
Responsible for leading a team of workers engaged in
the maintenance, repair, and construction of water and
sewer infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in water and sewer maintenance, construction, or a related field is required, including experience in a supervisory role preferred.
- A Valid Texas Driver's License is required at the time of placement and a clean driving record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of water and sewer systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of machines and equipment such as backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, project requirements, and varying environmental conditions.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members.
- Ensure that work is performed efficiently and according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
- Provide training to crew members on safety protocols, equipment operation, and job-specific tasks.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and meets safety standards.
- Conduct inspections to ensure the quality of workmanship and adherence to standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and provide regular updates to management.
- Identify and address issues that may arise during projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve challenges and ensure smooth operations.
- Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents promptly.
- Other duties as assigned
This position is an essential service position and will
require providing services during emergency situations.
PAY RATE
$18.29 per hour
