WATER and SEWER UTILITIES - Crew Leader II

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for leading a team of workers engaged in

the maintenance, repair, and construction of water and

sewer infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in water and sewer maintenance, construction, or a related field is required, including experience in a supervisory role preferred.
  • A Valid Texas Driver's License is required at the time of placement and a clean driving record.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of water and sewer systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of machines and equipment such as backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, project requirements, and varying environmental conditions.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members.
  • Ensure that work is performed efficiently and according to established procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Provide training to crew members on safety protocols, equipment operation, and job-specific tasks.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and meets safety standards.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure the quality of workmanship and adherence to standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and provide regular updates to management.
  • Identify and address issues that may arise during projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve challenges and ensure smooth operations.
  • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned

This position is an essential service position and will

require providing services during emergency situations.

PAY RATE

$18.29 per hour

Water and Sewer Superintendent
