Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represent the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Personnel responsibilities to include hiring, documenting and evaluating and scheduling employees to ensure proper operational and financial results, and ensure adherence to University and Starbucks policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for the complete oversight of the Starbucks store, which includes the receipt, preparation, holding, distribution, attractive presentation, marketing, merchandising, and service of products per Starbucks set standards.

  • Ensures the quality of all products, portion and cost controls in food production, making necessary adjustments where necessary. Directly involved in the inventory and control over all products through proper accountability.

  • Directly involved in providing and maintaining proper customer service levels and ensuring that brand standards are being continuously met. The store manager also maintains communication throughout and provides necessary feedback to all parties.

  • Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and assists in the identification of new products and promotionals that Starbucks rolls out throughout the year.

  • Ensure that food handling procedures are met and followed at all times-being constantly aware of food safety and sanitation and ensuring proper food and food related supplies are properly received, rotated, and ensures properly accounted for and inventoried.

  • Consistently provides various system checks to identify gaps in customer service, product delivery, store preparedness and overall guest experience.
