The Role:
Join our dynamic team as the Senior Director of Contracting for the Texas/New Mexico Service Area. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the Managed Care Contracting Program, guiding our organization through contract analysis, negotiation, execution, and organizational alignment. Based in the vibrant city of Lubbock, Texas, you will drive strategic initiatives and play a critical role in shaping the future of healthcare in the region.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic Visionary:Articulate a clear vision for achieving outcomes, ensuring every contract and negotiation aligns with our organization's goals. You will draft, revise, track, and manage payor contracts across Covenant Health Texas Region entities and ministries.
- Master Negotiator:Lead the charge in negotiating favorable managed care rates and contractual terms for all Texas Region CHS entities, maximizing reimbursement while minimizing financial risk.
- Operational Excellence:Provide administrative oversight, management, and supervision for business units and departments within the Texas Regional area. Ensure adherence to budgetary responsibilities and strategic objectives.
- Relationship Builder:Foster and maintain positive relationships with medical groups, employees, ancillaries, and payors. Promote effective communication among CHS companies and ministries to ensure seamless operations.
- Healthcare Innovator:Develop and oversee managed care products for payors and providers, driving strategic initiatives that support regional system ministries and enhance payor reimbursement protocols.
- Influential Communicator:Periodically engage in public speaking and presentations, demonstrating your knowledge of healthcare trends, market dynamics, and strategic initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
- Educational Background:Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university is required. A Master's Degree in Health Care Administration or equivalent education/experience is preferred.
- Professional Training:Training in computer applications, leadership skills, and project management.
- Industry Experience:At least 8 years of experience in the healthcare field, specifically in health insurance marketing claims and contract negotiation.
- Healthcare Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of current health care trends, health insurance, reimbursement, and claims processing operations.
- Communication Skills:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong public speaking abilities.
- Technical Proficiency:Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, word processing, graphics, accounting, and database management.
- Analytical Skills:Strong analytical skills to assess complex data and make informed decisions.
- Driving Requirements:Driving may be necessary as part of this role, and caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Proof of driver license and auto insurance may be required.
- Flexibility:Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet organizational demands.
