Position Description:

Assigns and supervises the work of custodians and performs custodial duties involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Supervises a small group of custodians.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Cleaning is done according to the standards set by the department. Proper methods and procedures should be followed at all times in all areas with consistent accuracy.

  • Assigns, supervises and trains/coaches all staff in performing their duties with consistent accuracy. Assumes supervisor duties in the absence of the Supervisor.

  • Promotes and practices safety in the work place. Maintains an accident free operation. Uses and cares for equipment in a safe and proper manner.

  • Performs work including emergency cleanup of rooms, summer conferences and cleanup, specialty floor or carpet cleaning, winter break cleaning, weekend work schedule and all related work as required. Paying attention to detail in all areas.

  • Visual and written inspections are completed with accuracy as requested or required. Quality control sheets and TMA work orders are completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
