Position Description:

Performs inspections using technical drawings and specifications in all phases of construction with regard to quality, quantity of materials, installation methods used and conformity to specifications and recognized industry standards.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Conducts routine on-site inspection of work in progress to determine compliance with contract documents, quality of work & materials. Reports contract deficiencies to the project manager. Maintains a daily log of site activities for construction projects. Ensures site safety compliance. Assist department with site utility locates and shutdowns and other duties.

  • Makes decisions on technical, administrative and management problems identified by periodic inspections of construction projects and coordinates with the appropriate project manager for compliance with the contract documents.

  • Maintains project record files for projects under construction. Includes review of submittals, as-built mark up of drawings and specifications to ensure they represent what is actually completed in the field.
