General Manager Overview

The General Manager is responsible for setting a positive culture withing the restaurant, running a profitable restaurant, building guest counts, and ensure the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.

At LSH GRP, we believe we have two types of guests with us every day. Those guests who dine with us in front of the counter, and those employees who are our guests behind the counter. Having an inviting and positive culture ensures all our guests are welcome. The General Manager is our culture ambassador and works with his/her leader to set the restaurant’s goals, creates a plan to achieve those goals, and works through the team to execute the plan to win.

  This individual develops and leads a team of Department Managers with specific responsibilities across all dayparts in the restaurant. This means helping the Department Managers to set their own goals, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve the Department teams. By improving the Departments, the restaurant improves!

  The General Manager is also responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to make sure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

  • Does not have to be a technology person, but is open to learning and teaching others to work with a variety of technology.

Responsibilities as a General Manager (includes but not limited to)

  • Know, execute, and adapt to new and existing System Maps.

  • Effectively manages P&Ls and looks for efficiencies to drive towards company goals.

  • Lead team (Crew, Shift Leaders, and Department Leaders) towards meeting defined performance goals as set forth by Supervisor(s) and Owner / Operator.

  • Hiring, Scheduling & Team Development

  • Labor / TPPH

  • Food Cost & Food Over Base

  • Planned Maintenance (M&R)

  • VOICE & Guest Reviews

  • PAC (Profit After Controllables)

  • Field Visits / Inspections

  • And others

  • Monthly

  • Shift Leader Meetings

  • Report Monthly sales performance and develop action plan with Supervisor

  • Bi-Weekly (every 2 weeks)

  • RL walkthrough with Supervisor

  • 1:1 with Supervisor and/or O/O to discuss performance, action items, and needed resources
