NY Employer Maintenance Mechanic in Lowville, New York
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Coordinates and implements the day-to-day maintenance/basic renovation of the agencys building and production equipment. This is a professional craftsmanship type work. The work involves responsibility for maintaining all the physical requirements for the agencys building, equipment scheduling and project layout. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The following is a summary of the essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and essential functions may change from time to time. Promote and adhere to all elements of the Agencys CQL outcomes and Core Values and demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the Arcs Mission. Ensure protection from abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and exploitation regarding the health, safety, comfort, and well-being of the people we support by adhering to all related policies. Responsible for keeping the agencys buildings in good physical condition. Assist in maintaining the heating, electrical, plumbing and security systems as required by all city state and insurance codes. Be familiar with OSHA regulations and procedures. Plan and carry out all carpentry, electrical, heating, plumbing or construction (masonry, roofing) repairs. Maintain buildings of both a residential and commercial/industrial nature. Undertake, coordinate, and assist in renovations required to update the present physical condition of the agencys buildings. Plan and carry out new construction projects. Maintain all machines and mechanical equipment in good working order, set up and/or update machine functions as required. Arrange PM programs for all agency equipment. Be assigned a pager to be able to respond to emergencies on nights/weekends at any agency building. Possess a basic knowledge of estimating jobs and purchasing material for the best price material for the Agencys maintenance needs. QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities, Ability to work independently and function as a team member with a wide range of people. Ability to work flexible schedules which may include evenings and weekends. Ability to communicate effectively. Experience in the field of construction/repairs. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, methods, and current building/maintenance practices. Good written and oral communication skills. Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High school diploma and two to four years experience or equivalent in the building trade field. A thorough working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, masonry, painting, and roofing fields.
