Our Retail Center of Excellence, in Lowell, AR, is looking for a Laboratory Assistant, to join the Sporting Goods team in conducting performance and quality assurance testing on sporting good equipment. Be directly impactful in creating a safer world for

A Laboratory Assistant for Sporting Goods:

  • Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.

  • Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.

  • Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.

  • Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.

  • As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets.

  • Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results.

  • Records and explains test results.

  • Reads and interprets results of tests.

  • Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.

  • Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.

  • As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.

  • Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.

  • Operates designated laboratory equipment and tools as directed.

  • Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff.

  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.

  • Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.

  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Required: Higher Secondary Education.

  • Required: Strong communication (verbal and written) skills, and demonstrated ability to do so effectively with customers.

  • Required: Desire to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.

  • Required: Ability to use Microsoft Office software (i.e., Outlook, Excel).

  • Required: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted.

  • Highly Preferred: Familiarity with fishing, hunting, and other sporting good equipment.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career, and the estimated salary range for this position is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, and geographical location. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
