Horseshoe Bend Motel Assistant Manager in Lovell, Wyoming

A part-time position with the opportunity for full-time.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • With the support and direction of the Property Manager, oversee all department activities and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, department managers, motel manager, and community champions. 
  • Oversee timelines and projects. 
  • Support and create employee and contractor schedules. 
  • Maintain a payroll budget, work with department leads to finalize submissions. 

General Duties

  • Manage several tasks operating simultaneously. 
  • Lead by example attitude is essential. 
  • Implement procedures and methods to secure the property and create a high standard of safety for both guests and staff. 
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills, set an ethical example for staff throughout the property.
  • Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors for general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facility's equipment and systems. Document expenses and communication properly and under the direction of the motel manager, mentor. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly.
  • Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
  • Oversee property projects and proceed with timelines and activities as per the direction of the motel manager and mentor.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
  • Manicure the property grounds as needed. 
  • Inventory linens and condition of the room furnishings. Order linens and furnishings as required and necessary. 
  • Inventory stockroom and supplies are within standard levels. Order supplies and materials with approval, when needed. 
  • Manage loss control, oversee inventory and ordering for the entire property. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a fully functioning property which limits capacity limitations due to maintenance and safety issues.
  • Maintain extremely high expectations across all domains, to increase customer satisfaction, workplace morale, and overall incredible experience.

Human Resources

  • Recruit, interview and hire seasonal staff across all departments, in conjunction with needs and department projects. 
  • Training, support new staff development, ongoing safety and standard training. 
  • Address human resources needs requiring standards management, payroll verification, schedule oversight, and general staffing needs. 
  • Manage staff gratuity.
  • Partner with manager to decide on employee wages, disciplinary actions, and other related human resources tasks, including monitor schedules and budgets.

Marketing

  • Marketing the face of Horseshoe Bend Motel is a requirement for all positions. 
  • Market the brand and reputation of the business through marketing channels, community engagement, conferences, customer service. 
  • Engage with community leaders, meetings, and organizational projects. 
  • Utilize time to create and locate state-wide and international opportunities  for tourism and recreation. 
  • Review past connections and potential contacts to build relationships within the community, state, and nation.  

Education and Experience:

  • Applicant must be 18 years of age.
  • 12 units of college education or relevant work experience is highly preferred. 
  • Previous experience in related field preferred, training and support is available daily. 
  • Utilize computer devices and electronics, specifically Mac devices/IOS. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, and crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able 50 pounds at a time.

Schedule and Availability Considerations:

  • Must be able to work weekends and occasional nights, with notice and duri g staff outages and shortages.  
  • Must be responsive to emergencies.
  • Must properly communicate personal schedule needs proactively. 
  • Manage on-call shifts as scheduled to address staffing needs. 
  • Must have open availability during blacked-out dates to meet the needs of the business and property.
