Sudden Service, Inc. Mechanic Apprentice 4444/3632/20643 in Louisville, Mississippi

This is a Mechanic Apprentice position located in the Louisville, MS area. 

As mechanic's apprentice in training, you will be teamed up with a lead mechanic to perform repair tasks for small engines, tractors, automotive, etc. The mechanic apprentice completes all of the maintenance and repair tasks that are assigned to them by their supervisor. These tasks can vary considerably from day to day. For example, a mechanic apprentice will spend time creating maintenance records and reports. They'll also assist the mechanic in repairing engine problems, replacing faulty parts, and performing maintenance tasks like oil changes. There are no special requirements that need to be met in order to become a mechanic apprentice. Just a keen interest in eventually becoming a full-fledged mechanic. It can also be beneficial to have some existing automotive, small engine, heavy duty repair skills, such as the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and familiarity with the most commonly-used tools, techniques, and products of the trade.

Responsibilities: Follow the instructions given to you by your supervisor. Perform basic repairs under the guidance of a mechanic. Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes. Put together vehicle maintenance records and documentation. Help us to maintain our inventory. Order new car parts by phone and online.

Required Skills/Abilities: High school diploma or equivalent, vocational. A desire to develop the skills that a mechanic needs to possess. Strong customer service skills. Ability to use basic hand tools. Some familiarity with simple automotive/equipment tasks, techniques, and products. Physically able to lift heavy objects. Can stand, sit, bend, stoop for long periods of time. Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
