This is a job for a Accounts Payable Specialist position with a company located in Louisville, MS.

Job Summary: This accounting position will perform accounts payable duties as well as various other accounting functions. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for performing all accounts payable functions. Receives and processes invoices (production, expense, and freight) for payment, charging to appropriate company and account number. Resolves any problems with invoices prior to submission. Receive and respond to customer requests for invoices, statements, W-9's. Receive and respond to vendor requests regarding invoice/payment. Distribute incoming mail to the appropriate department/personnel when needed. Other duties as assigned by.

Required Skills/Abilities: Be knowledgeable of the accounts receivable system. Perform all job accountabilities with professionalism and protect the organization's/department's value by keeping information confidential. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate a computer and basic office. Proficiency in data entry. Oral and written communication skills are required to effectively interact with vendors externally and internally with employees. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors. Must be able to work in close contact with others in a small office and be able to get along with. Skill in answering telephone in a pleasant and helpful. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written. Must be well organized and detail.

Education and Experience: Associates degree in Accounting or related business field. 2-4 years accounts payable or general accounting. Advanced knowledge of Accounts Payable is very important.
