Humana Strategy Advancement Advisor, Discovery & Strategic Partnerships in Louisville, Kentucky

The Strategy Advancement Advisor, Discovery & Strategic Partnerships provides data-driven strategic direction to identify and evaluate potential strategic vendor partners with the goal of advancing business priorities and clinical objectives. Leads company screening and evaluation and market landscaping support for the Medicare business segment and potentially the company at large. The Strategy Advancement Advisor works on problems of diverse scope and substantial complexity.

The Strategy Advancement Advisor, Discovery & Strategic Partnerships enables the enterprise to effectively and intentionally collaborate with best-in-class strategic partners in order to advance our clinical and experience objectives. This person will work autonomously and exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks.

In this role you will:

  • Lead strategic vendor evaluation for solutions aimed to improve clinical outcomes for the Medicare population

  • Lead initial screening of companies, defining key requirements and evaluation criteria with business owners, leading evaluation meetings with prospective strategic partners, and analysis needed to make a recommendation

  • Manage relationships with key internal business partners like Market Operations, Clinical Strategy, Retail Product & Growth, Vendor Management, Value-Based Strategies, and Clinical Analytics

  • Structure and lead research and analysis on consumer and industry trends; market landscaping for specific clinical priority areas

  • Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts to analyze and synthesize information, develop insights and produce recommendations based on company and external data analysis

  • Is a team player who has demonstrated success building collaborative working relationships

  • Seeks to 'connect the dots' and has a hunger for understanding a wide range of business problems and industry dynamics that impact Humana's business

  • Takes ownership of their work, proactively identifying potential barriers and seeking creative solutions to overcoming obstacles

  • Is adept at navigating and managing communications and relationships with internal associates at all levels (including senior leaders), as well as c-suite level leaders from external companies

  • Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Seven (7) or more years of combined experience in one or more of the following: consulting, strategy development, corporate development (M&A, investments); and strategic partnership selection or contracting

  • Two (2) or more years of cross-functional project leadership experience

  • Strong critical thinking skills, analytical experience, and business acumen

  • Strategic thinker who can identify, prioritize, structure, and solve complex business problems, then present synthesized insights that are accessible and actionable to leadership

  • Microsoft Excel modeling (Basic) & PowerPoint presentation skills

  • Translating ambiguity into structured framework and/or processes

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with ability to flex to different audiences

  • Strong time management that allows for working independently

  • Ability to conduct, interpret, and leverage data and analytics to improve strategy and make recommendations

Additional Information

  • This position is remote or hybrid with preference in our Louisville or Washington, DC office

  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$112,400 - $154,900 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
