Department OverviewThe North America Solutions Deployment and Integration Organizaton delivers solutions to the public safety market (911, Police, Fire, EMS). The team delivers products and solutions that make our customers the best they can be in Solving for SaferJob Description

Note: This is a remote position (US) and the candidates can reside in EST or CST.

Overview:

The Solutions Architect is responsible for the deployment of Computer Aided Dispatch Systems, Mobile Applications, and Records Management Systems. The group deploys software applications and interfaces in the public safety market for government and municipal projects. Knowledge of Motorola's FLEX product is preferred. Qualified candidates must be able to deploy systems and interfaces to other products as well as trouble shoot technical issues. Soft skills and customer interaction are required. Some travel (under 25%) is required

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and implements customer installation activities in a time-sensitive manner.

  • Elicits customer requirements and can communicate technical details in verbal and written form to all levels of organization.

  • Understands Public Safety customer environments for product security and reliability.

  • Delivers solutions within the context of a defined product, standard interfaces, and limited flexibility.

  • General software and IP network debugging skills are critical. Must be a Problem solver.

  • Installs, Integrates, Deploys, and Delivers defined solutions.

  • Identifies product defects and monitors resolution from engineering to customer acceptance.

  • Tracks billable hours for project work completed.

Preferred skills & experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

  • 3+ years experience in Enterprise, Public Safety or government Systems Deployment or have managed CAD/Records products in a government setting.

  • Public Safety experience is preferred.

  • Must have the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contracts.

Seeking proficiency in the following areas:

  • Windows Server 2016 or newer

  • RedHat Linux

  • VMWare/EXSi/virtual machines

  • Ctree database

  • Java

  • Apache Tomcat

  • Must be a self motivated team player

  • Must have excellent communication skills

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline AND 3+ years experience in software disciplines: Systems Integration, Software Engineering, Product Development, System Test, System Support, Information Technology or similar technical or engineering disciplines.

  • OR 5 + years of experience in software disciplines: Systems Integration, Software Engineering, Product Development, System Test, System Support, Information Technology or similar technical or engineering disciplines.

  • This position is subject to working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
