The Senior Software Engineer develops, tests, deploy and support innovative software applications based on business requirements, technical architecture and design documents for the Insurance Products and Benefit Platform. Delivers working software solutions conforming to Humana standards, industry best practices and secure coding practices. The work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

In this role, you'll be part of a dynamic agile software engineering team to continuously deliver new features for the technology platforms used to administer our various health insurance products and benefits. As the Senior Software Engineer, you will develop, test, deploy and support innovative software applications based on business requirements, solution architecture and technical design documents and deliver working software solutions conforming to Humana standards, industry best practices and secure coding practices, standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software, oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes, research and analyze complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues and implement decisions regarding technical approach. The work is performed under direction from Architects and Technology Leads.

Required Qualifications

• Must be willing to work from Louisville, KY area in hybrid mode. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

• 5 or more years of hands on experience designing, developing, and testing of core Java web applications in cloud for a large business organization.

• Proven expertise in modern frameworks like Angular, Spring WebFlux, and no SQL Databases like MONGO.

• Proficient in NodeJS, APIs, and Microservices

• Skilled in Kubernetes.

• Expertise with PowerShell scripting a must have.

• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in the relevant field of study

• Cloud certification

• Familiarity with secure coding practices

Work-At-Home Requirements

• WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

• A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

• Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$104,800 - $144,300 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
