University of Louisville Research Technician II in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 5 (Salaried)Position Description:The Department of Surgery seeks a Research Technician II to support the principal investigator in a laboratory conducting research on immune profiling and imaging studies for cancer. The main responsibilities will be to prepare radiopharmaceutical doses and related quality control, perform related in vitro evaluation of radiopharmaceuticals, administration of radiopharmaceutical dose into animal models, acquire PET/CT and optical scans on animal models, and analyze PET/CT data. The position requires strong animal experience, basic chemistry background, cell culture experience, attention to detail, strong interpersonal and time management skills.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare radiopharmaceutical dose and run quality control.Conduct compound injection in animal models.Conduct PET/CT and optical scanning on animal models.Conduct PET/CT imaging data analysis and generate reports.Conduct routine PET/CT scanner normalization, calibration, and maintenance.Conduct compounds evaluation (radioactive and non-radioactive) in various biochemical assays and generate reports.Conduct animal experiments, including health check, tumor measuring.Participate in new experimental procedures and designs.Prepare materials and equipment necessary for laboratory experiments.May instruct lab personnel in special experimental procedures.Support sample collection and processing.Provide oversight of lab equipment.Manage lab supplies.Perform related duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications Masters’ degree in a related field.Experience in PET/CT imaging.Experience in radiochemistry.Experience in animal experiments.Experience in cell culture.Consistent work performance.Competencies Time management.Resource management.Record keeping.Risk managementTarget Compensation Maximum:$68,900.00Target Compensation Minimum:$45,900.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of Louisville is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, ethnicity, creed, religion, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy, or veteran status.
