O'Neal Industries, Inc. Material Handler - Parts Cleaner 1st shift- O'Neal Manufacturing Services in Louisville, Kentucky

Position Summary

The Material Handler I may operate forklifts, load trucks, unload and receive parts, pull stock, drive Yard Dogs, clean parts, assemble products or kits and generally clean the work area.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Commitment to workplace safety

  • Shipping/Receiving: Receive inbound inventory, place material into storage, pull inventory from storage to fill customer orders, and load material on trucks and trailers for outbound shipment.

  • Material Handling: Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, cranes or other material handling equipment to move material to/from trucks or trailer and within the premises.

  • Parts Cleaning/Assembly: Cleaning parts using hand/pedestal grinders or other metal finishing equipment, utilize hand trucks, forklifts, cranes or other material handling equipment to move material.

  • Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

  • Work under direct supervision.

  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Shifts

  • First: 7:00am-5:30pm Mon - Thur.

  • Third: 8:30pm-7:00am Sun-Thur.

  • Overtime available.

    Skills/Qualifications

  • Ability to operate forklift and cranes.

  • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder and bander.

  • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper and micrometer.

  • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.

  • Ability to convert metric to English.

  • Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.

  • Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.

  • Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
