Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for technical training and talent development? We're seeking an innovative Manager, Manufacturing Training to join our Supply Chain Talent Development team. In this role, you'll drive the delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of technical training courses across all our manufacturing sites, including: Roper, Selmer, Decatur, Camden, and Appliance Park (Louisville, KY headquarters).

You will lead key programs like the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program and KY FAME (Kentucky Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education), manage the mock line experience at Appliance Park, and oversee the Production Skills Trainers.

How You'll Create Possibilities

As the Manager, Manufacturing Training, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading Training and Skill Development : Develop comprehensive training paths for Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Manufacturing Engineering, Process Improvement Engineering, Skilled Trades, and Equipment Operation.

  • Conducting Needs Analysis : Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs, prioritize them, and address knowledge/skill gaps within the Supply Chain.

  • Managing the Maintenance Learning Council : Plan agendas, schedule meetings, and leverage internal knowledge to create effective learning programs.

  • Standardizing Curriculum Design : Ensure training programs and certifications meet technical training needs efficiently.

  • Evaluating Training Impact : Use enterprise tools to measure and demonstrate the effectiveness and business impact of training programs.

  • Developing Training Curriculum : Design course objectives and blended learning solutions in partnership with internal and external vendors.

  • Maintaining Training Records : Utilize the LMS to keep accurate records and create reports on training programs and participants.

  • Managing Grants : Identify and manage local, state, and federal grants for Supply Chain training activities.

  • Promoting Maintenance Talent : Lead GEA’s efforts in the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program and KYFAME participation.

  • Owning the Mock Line Experience : Ensure the operational readiness and improvement of the mock assembly line at Appliance Park.

  • Supporting New Employee Programs : Aid in employee selection, orientation, and the implementation of new learning technologies.

  • Staying Current : Continuously develop technical knowledge and best practices by engaging with professional organizations and educational workshops.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience in classroom management, course planning, and facilitation.

  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to build relationships with technical schools and maintain a pipeline for maintenance talent.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with e-learning software is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing.

  • Creativity, flexibility, organization, and detail orientation.

  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and lead change initiatives.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or currently pursuing one.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Leadership, Workforce Training, Learning and Development, or related HR function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • 2 years of Learning and Development experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Certifications such as CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) or Certified Master Facilitator™

Travel

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
