Summary About the Position: Performs a wide range of duties in support of Programs and Project Management, primarily concerned with the coordination, oversight, and management of data that is essential to the successful tracking and execution of assigned projects. Responsibilities Collect project execution data from members assigned to the District or projects/programs to forecast project challenges and make suggestions to ensure project/program success. Maintain electronic databases and inputs to existing databases with an emphasis to maximize use of enterprise Automated Information Systems (AIS). Prepare a wide variety of project management reports for upward reporting, monthly project status reviews with customers, monthly PRB briefings, and other project data calls. Review P2, Program Project Delivery System (PPDS) reporting system and other formal reports to ensure the correct information is presented and makes corrections. Utilize project data and cost/schedule information contained in feeder reports and other sources in the preparation, submission, efficient maintenance, and execution of project management plans and project funding allocations. Continuously review progress in various phases of the operating programs and keeps Project Managers abreast of program status, availability of funds, costs, alternatives, etc., and develops recommendations to Project Manager on necessary revisions. Prepare reports using a variety of standard query languages depicting scheduled and actual obligations and expenditures and overall status of project for review by the Project Review Board. Prepare and/or collaborate on development of exhibits, reports and correspondence for project information presentations at meetings of public, civic, and other interests as needed during project development. GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Researching and analyzing project schedules, controls and fund utilization; preparing reports to reflect monthly project status; monitoring and reviewing information from materials to detect or assess problems and collecting and inputting data into electronic databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Data management, data manipulation, and the compilation, analysis, and presentation of data. Typical programs that cover this curriculum include Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, and Data and/or Information Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching and analyzing mass quantities of project data; experience preparing reports and correspondence using automated software, coordinate activities related to project planning and execution including such functions as; Planning, Real Estate, Engineering, Contracting, Constructing Division and/or Resource Management Office. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Data management, data manipulation, and the compilation, analysis, and presentation of data. Typical programs that cover this curriculum include Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, and Data and/or Information Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
