Tennant Company Logistics & Operations Manager in Louisville, Kentucky

As the Operations Manager for our Louisville Distribution Center (DC), you will achieve team operational performance metrics targets including People, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Inventory; managing DC operations, including Inbound; Outbound; Inventory; and Quality Control for the site. We currently run on two shifts (1st and 2nd) Monday through Friday.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • DC Operations Management
    • Lead and direct the performance of site's value streams to meet objectives (safety, quality, delivery, cost, engagement).
    • Develop and maintain high standards of safety and working conditions to provide maximum protection for the employees and equipment.
    • Support and drive the implementation of continuous improvement.
    • Support and collaborate with Field Services, Sales, Customer Service, Tennant Manufacturing Plants and Subsidiaries about ongoing delivery issues related to Inbound, Outbound, or other distribution-related causes.
    • Partner with Materials Management and Brush Manufacturing teams to implement a process that will routinely identify opportunities to improve delivery and warehouse efficiency.
    • Understand and communicate business/financial information related to warehouse operations and develop and adhere to a budget.
  • Staffing & Development
    • Develop a high performing operations team. Manage employment selection, training, mentoring, guiding, and disciplining. Know and understand Company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
    • Drive a high-performance culture through organizational development and strategy deployment. Clearly identify roles and responsibilities to drive effective accountability for established goals, responsibilities, and ownership of actions.
    • Partner with Human Resources and others to drive engagement and increase retention.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience, preferably in a distribution setting. 5+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience with low volume, high complexity product preferred.
  • Leadership experience in Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing with a history of continuous improvement in previous positions.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of innovation, ingenuity, creativity, attention to detail, ownership, integrity, accountability, and willingness to seek and take on challenges is required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and have flexibility to have visibility on both first and second shifts.
