University of Louisville Instructional Design and Technology Specialist II in Louisville, Kentucky
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design/Educational Technology, Computer Science or a related field and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 6 (Hourly)Position Description:The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist II is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing the curriculum for the Health Professions Education graduate programs at the UofL School of Medicine. This role will ensure that each course is properly set up in the Learning Management System (LMS) for each semester, provide instructional design recommendations, and align assessments with program learning outcomes. The position requires collaboration with faculty to enhance instructional strategies, improve student learning experiences, and ensure the program meets academic standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate with faculty to ensure all course materials are uploaded and organized in the LMS at least 2 weeks before the start of each semester.Ensure that course content, assignments, assessments, and grading rubrics are accurately reflected in the LMS.Provide technical support and training to faculty on LMS functionalities.Review and update course syllabi to align with program learning outcomes.Collaborate with faculty to ensure that instructional materials meet academic standards and are consistent across courses.Recommend improvements or modifications to course content based on student feedback, assessment data, and current educational trends.Develop and recommend appropriate formative and summative assessments aligned with learning outcomes.Work with faculty to design rubrics, quizzes, exams, projects, and other assessment tools that accurately measure student performance.Additional duties as assigned to support the professional and educational mission of the office HPE program.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree, PhD or EdD in education or curriculum development specializing in adult learning.3+ years of experience in adult learning or teaching in continuing education field.1+ years of experience teaching instructional strategies and educational best practices .to adult learners as well as experience with the clinical learning environment. Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (Blackboard).Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.Knowledge of current trends in instructional technology and designing online courses.Clinical Teaching Experience in higher or professional education.
