Job description

The Lab Repair Support Technician is responsible for supporting lab operations by preparing items for repair which includes pulling, distributing to technicians, cleaning, and ensuring all components needed are available. After repairs are made is responsible to ensure the items are packed and properly prepared to be sold. Must have good communication and organizational skills we are willing to train the right candidate.

Fire Alarm and Electronics Repair Preparation

  • Support lab technicians by properly cleaning, prepping and staging items for repair.
  • Assist in the testing of alarm parts.
  • Learn the basics of a fire alarm system and related components.
  • Learn to do basic repairs to alarm peripherals.
  • Able to work in a team environment to increase parts and knowledge of each panel.
  • Assist with pulling salvage items for repair and processing items being sent in for repair.
  • Support the pick, pack and ship operations as required.
  • Verify packing slips match physical receipts.
  • Organize and put away stock inventory.
  • Support the review and valuation of cores and buyback material.
  • Inspects products for defects and damages and reports findings to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS* Familiarity with electronics repair and/or warehouse operations

  • Able to learn to identify electronic components and how to test them.
  • High school diploma.

* Electronic repair and soldering.

  • Some technical training related to electronic repair.
  • Computer skills, specifically including Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.
  • Previous experience working in a team environment.

* Able to use tools required to perform repairs and testing.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow up with supervisors on completion of tasks.
  • Ability to stay focused and learn new equipment.
  • Able to be a self-starter once a project is assigned.
