Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2327000 and is part of the KY 123 AW, National Guard. Responsibilities As a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC - TITLE 32, WG-2610-13/14, you will perform maintenance on multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Complete operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of LRUs. Isolate unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment. Solve complex problems by analyzing installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics of the systems. Adjust and align system sensors, transmitters, amplifiers, power supplies, display devices, controls, transponders, actuators, servos, computers and other related components. Install components into aircraft and perform total systems alignment and harmonization IAW technical orders and directives. Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, align, and calibrate complete electronic avionics multi-systems control. Align, adjust, and perform final calibrations on integrated systems to determine successful repairs. Analyze equipment failure and malfunctions and suggest changes to improve operation. Monitor operation of complex, interrelated systems, analyze operating trends, propose preventative maintenance down time to assure continued operating capability, and recommend components for overhaul or engineering evaluation for disposal. Troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyze system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, and test equipment. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiate material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assist in design changes as necessary. Conduct aircrew debriefing to determine the nature of system malfunctions. Document discrepancies and maintenance actions performed. Plan, accomplish, and maintain a functional shop maintenance program. Plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop. Estimate manpower, equipment and material requirements. Devise and maintain all program plans and records. Use knowledge of surveillance and troubleshooting techniques to determine maintenance/repair procedures needed. Plan, organize and direct shop maintenance programs/procedures under general supervision. Determine approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Provide recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Ensure other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Perform other duties as assigned. Military Requirement: Completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded one of the following compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC: 2A071, 2A374, 2A375, 2A974 CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds. Must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time. Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles in accordance with Air Force and Air National Guard Vehicle Operations Directives. Must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years. This position is developmental: Incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher grade upon completion of an Individual Development Plan (IDP), award of the compatible 7-skill level AFSC, meeting time in grade requirements, and recommendation for promotion by supervisor. Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience that demonstrates the basic knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in integrated systems. Experience with relative principles such as digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory. Experience interpreting and tracing schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). FOR THE WG-13: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic (WG-2610-12) and must possess the craftsmen knowledge and skills level required to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes. Experience completing operational checks, inspections, tests, trouble shooting, removal and replacement of systems and components. Experience isolating malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment. Experience maintaining, modifying, calibrating, and inspecting user test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment. Experience performing installations, modifications, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, aligning, and calibrating complete electronic avionics multi-system controls. Experience evaluating operational characteristics of integrated systems by observing and analyzing waveforms, voltage, current, power indications, computer registers and printouts. Experience analyzing malfunctions encountered through fault codes, determining repair sequence process and performing required repairs. Experience performing alignments, adjustments, and conducting calibrations on integrated systems. FOR THE WG-14: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic (WG-2610-13) and must possess the craftsmen knowledge and skills level as required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. Experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and complete assigned mechanic shop work. Experience estimating manpower, equipment and material requirements involved to finish assigned work or special projects. Experience devising and maintaining all program plans and records. Experience delivering surveillance and troubleshooting techniques. Experience independently determining levels of maintenance and necessary repair procedures. Experience planning, organizing, and directing shop maintenance programs/procedures. Experience determining various approaches, methods, and courses-of-action required to effectively and efficiently accomplish the mission work. Experience providing recommendations to supervisors in regard to personnel actions, such as performance appraisals, awards, position descriptions changes, disciplinary actions, or leave requests. Experience implementing environmental safety requirements and identifying equipment handling concerns that resulted in observed safety and housekeeping practices. Experience wearing the appropriate safety equipment and following pertinent safety precautions.
