University of Louisville Development Officer II (Assistant Director of Development) - HSC in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 7 (Salaried)Position Description:The Development Officer II (Assistant Director of Development) will assist in the planning and execution of a comprehensive philanthropic program for the Health Sciences Center (HSC) campus. The candidate will work in coordination with the Assistant Vice President of HSC Development and the Associate Director of Development. In addition, they will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level prospects for their assigned school, department or program. All job functions must be performed with a high degree of professionalism, including responsibility, initiative, creativity, dependability, human relations, cooperation, courtesy, and in compliance with Affirmative Action. A high level of personal and professional integrity is a must, along with the ability to communicate effectively and frequently with colleagues.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMeet or exceed annual goals as defined each year in a personal assessment scorecard.Build and manage a portfolio of approximately 100-150 gift donors.Work with the Office of Prospect Management and Research to identify, cultivate and solicit gift prospects that are capable of contributing $5,000 to $10,000 to the university.Recommend and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for individual prospects.Partner with staff from the Development team on HSC to coordinate effective donor engagement and giving opportunities.Work collaboratively with administration, faculty, advisory board members, volunteers, and others in the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations and across the university.Develop, evaluate, and refine plans and timetables for solicitation strategies.Represent the University of Louisville at key development and alumni events and fundraising or donor engagement opportunities.Assist in planning and/or directing cultivation events or programs to foster interaction between donors, senior leadership, and students at the university.Assist with preparing written proposals and stewardship reports to cultivate and solicit prospects for gifts in support of the university and use persuasive language to promote visionary gift opportunities.Maintain and continually update prospect and donor records in database platform including prompt entry for call/contact reports.Some evening and weekend work required.Preferred QualificationsPreferred experience in non-profit fundraising or higher education.
