University of Louisville Development Officer I (Assistant Director of Development, Major Gifts) in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 5 (Salaried)Position Description:The Development Officer I (Assistant Director of Development, Major Gifts) will identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects to help support the Cardinal Athletic Funds Major Gifts initiatives. The Assistant Director of Development, Major Gifts will be responsible for the achievement of assigned fundraising goals as determined by the Assistant Athletic Director, Development.The Development Officer I (Assistant Director of Development, Major Gifts) will perform all job functions with a high degree of professionalism, and must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including oral and written. Display a high degree of initiative, creativity, accountability, and dependability.This position will be required to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed and will require Local travel to visit donors and attend off-campus meetings and events. Some overnight out of state travel maybe required.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies which include building, managing and solicitation a portfolio of major gift prospects.Solicit and secure donations of $10,000 or more to help support capital projects, annual scholarship requirements, sports specific needs and other projects.Execute premium seating and suite sales for both Football and Basketball.Achieve fundraising and premium seat/suite sell goals set by the Assistant Athletic Director of Development and the Associate Athletic Director, Development.Manage a portfolio of an estimated 250 donors.Assist in the cultivation and stewardship initiatives of our entire major gift donor base and the individual portfolio through special events and invitations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s Degree in related field.Two (2) or more years of related work experience in fundraising or sales.Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.The Athletic Department is committed to creating equitable and inclusive campus environments that accelerate the success of the full range of our students and employees.
