Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED and two or more years of dental assisting experience. Completion of a dental assisting training program. CPR certification. Grade 3 Wage Range Min $18.56 Mid $23.23 Max $27.85Position Description:The University of Louisville School of Dentistry prepares students for a career in Dentistry. Dental Clinic Staff are an integral part of that preparation in that they facilitate the interface between student providers and their patients during a critical time in their studies, within the clinic setting. While their first two years is spent in a traditional classroom setting, student providers spend their last two years in a dental clinic setting learning hands on. All Dental Clinic Associates (DCA) directly support the work of the students as they progress towards completion of their clinical requirements.This position serves as the communication link between the student providers and both their patients and the supervising faculty. They offer administrative, technical, and procedural support to the students throughout their two years in the clinic and are dedicated to helping them graduate.$3,000.00 Sign on / Retention Bonus for those who qualify.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works with faculty, peers, and supervisors to deliver customer service oriented and patient centered care within the DMD clinics.Works closely with faculty, peers, and supervisors to ensure that consistency in operation is maintained among the groups.Maintains current appointments for all patients assigned to their 20-student team.Seats and checks in each patient within their student team.Serves as chairside assistant to the students when necessary.Maintains the cleanliness of associated cubes and checks that equipment is functioning properly.Stocks cubicles and helps to maintain overall inventory.Reviews daily the patient Electronic Health Records and assists the students with accuracy of notes and corresponding codes.Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and Infection Control compliance at all times.Other duties as assigned.Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.Equal Employment OpportunityThe University of Louisville is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer, and is committed to providing employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, sex, age, color, national origin, ethnicity, creed, religion, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity and expression, marital status, pregnancy, or veteran status.
