Job Title: Service Plumber

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Plumber with over 6 years of experience in both residential and commercial plumbing. The ideal candidate will be proficient in studying building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and the sequence of installations. You will be responsible for inspecting structures to identify obstructions, cutting openings in walls and floors, and assembling and installing various types of pipes and fittings.

Responsibilities

  • Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations.

  • Inspect structures to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.

  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.

  • Bend pipes to required angles using a pipe-bending machine or by hand.

  • Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various materials such as iron, steel, brass, lead, glass, vitrified clay, and plastic.

  • Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints.

  • Test systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to determine if systems are functioning properly.

  • Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.

  • Understand all contract documents and specifications.

Essential Skills

  • 6+ years of residential and commercial plumbing experience

  • Proficiency in construction, plumbing, mechanical systems, and understanding of building structures

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping schematics

  • Experience with industrial plumbing, installation of PVC and other pipe materials

  • Proficiency in using hand tools and troubleshooting plumbing issues

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems

  • Familiarity with OSHA 10 safety standards

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial construction

  • Skill in soldering and pipe fitting

  • Ability to manage service calls and understand all contract documents and specifications

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00
