Description
Join the team at The Los Angeles Athletic Club, a historic private club dedicated to the body, mind, and spirit of its members. We are looking for a dedicated Swim Instructor to elevate the member and guest experience.
Job Summary:
Contribute to a positive and safe aquatic experience for members and guests. Provide personalized swim coaching and ensure safety in the aquatic facility.
Responsibilities:
Develop and conduct private swim lessons for all levels.
Teach stroke development: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.
Provide motivational support and build swim confidence in members.
Ensure exemplary customer service and follow reservation guidelines for booking lessons.
Remain attentive and alert in the pool area.
Provide immediate intervention in hazardous conditions.
Ensure equipment is in safe working order.
Welcome and assist members and guests.
Operate chair lift efficiently and safely.
Follow all opening and closing procedures.
Education, Licenses, & Certifications:
Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position preferred.
Required: American Red Cross Lifeguard certification; CPR and First Aid; AEC Certification(s).
Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Qualifications:
At least 18 years of age.
Reliable and punctual attendance.
Excellent time-management, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Background in teaching swim lessons and knowledge of competitive swimming preferred.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to accept constructive feedback.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 35 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
Pay:
Hourly Base Rate: $20.32
PT commissions range from $36.82 (30 min) to $49.32 (1hr)
Group Swim Instructor: starting at $37 hour
