Citigroup SVP, Mid Corp Relationship Manager - Industrials in Los Angeles, California
This Senior Relationship Manager is primarily responsible for originating new banking business development and expanding existing client relationships with US-headquartered multi-national companies in the Industrials sector. Target market companies typically range from sub $1B to $5B+ in global revenues. The Senior Relationship Manager is expected to build and deepen global relationships by delivering Citi’s vast international resources and capabilities to address client’s strategic financial needs. The role involves coordination and collaboration with products, investment banking, underwriting, risk management, and operations at all levels (country, regional and global). The individual is responsible for ensuring the bank will achieve and surpass returns hurdles. The senior relationship manager will set the global relationship strategy and credit allocations for each portfolio client.
Job Description / Key Responsibilities:
Business Development - Acquire new to bank client relationships based on well-defined target market criteria and disciplined strategies
Client Relationship Management – Defend and grow existing portfolio clients by providing trusted advisor thought leadership, delivering Citi global network, facilitating success of client financial strategies
Portfolio Management – ensuring Citi achieves and exceeds returns hurdles for the valued and finite capital we deploy around the world.
Risk Management - Be the eyes of the and ears of the Bank on client credit profile and credit risk evolution working closely with underwriting and risk management partners
Proactive client calling and target market prospects to develop and execute cross sell
Client-level planning, budget, and pipeline. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet and returns
Coordinate with Product and Investment Banking coverage to deliver solutions
Act as the clients’ internal advocate and sponsor credit approvals with CCB’s risk and underwriting teams. Coordinate overseas coverage of clients’ needs across over 95 countries where Citi has dedicated banking coverage
Oversee talented junior resources to provide financial solutions to clients and prospects and ensure safe and sound underwriting practices
Maximize client experience by proactively sharing markets updates, trends, and intelligence
Monitor and support products’ implementation processes. Manage customers and transactions in the CRM platform
Verify adherence to global KYC (Know Your Customer) standards during the onboarding process and, on an ongoing basis, ensuring the appropriate compliance deliverables are met
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all times
Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of banking, capital markets, risk management, FX, treasury, trade, syndicated credits, as well as a solid track record of providing financial advisory and solutioning to clients
Demonstrate thought leadership and ability to create long-term trust and advisory based relationships
Experience in structuring domestic and cross border credit solutions across different risk profiles
Ability to coordinate dynamic deal teams to structure and execute value added solutions
Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills (e.g., negotiation, consultative skills, business development)
Seasoned knowledge of credit risk and financial analysis fundamentals
A proactive approach in looking for ways to develop new and strengthen existing business relationships with clients, delivers a simple, secure, and seamless client experience
Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience that we deliver for our clients
Must have a sharp business development focus and demonstrate innovative approaches
Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights
Practical knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank policies
Skills / Competencies:
FINRA Licensing, Series 79, 63, SIE (current or ability to obtain)
Self-starter, able to work independently and used to working in an entrepreneurial environment that facilitates build out of a world class banking platform.
Thrive in a flat organizational structure leveraging talented junior resources achieve goals.
Ability to work under pressure and multitask while making sound decisions
Excellent presentation skills and ability to influence decisions at all levels. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with a strategic mindset

Experience / Education:
Experience with multi-national commercial clients in the Industrials sector
Must have in-depth knowledge of banking products and services
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
