UCLA Health Student Health Clinical Therapist in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking to hire a part-time

Clinical Therapist to join the UCLA Student Behavioral Health Services (BHS)

Program. This is a program that provides comprehensive and compassionate

medication management and therapy services to UCLA students who are enrolled in

the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). You will work primarily with patients

with high acuity or chronic mental health issues. Primary duties include:

  • Clinical evaluations of new patients

  • Assessing suitability for outpatient therapeutic care and need for additional mental health services

  • Individual, family and/or group psychotherapeutic treatment

  • Formulating treatment plans which may include therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to outside resources/specialists

  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, or psychotherapy

  • Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical records (progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries)

  • Providing consultation to peer clinicians or specific treatment

Salary range: $31.03/hr - $65.90/hr

Qualifications

Master's degree and valid CA State License in Marriage

Family Therapy (LMFT)

Must be able to apply and maintain UCLA Medical Staff

membership

Working knowledge of general theoretical and clinical models

Skill writing clear and complete clinical notes and

summaries of clinical evaluations

Experience interacting with professional healthcare

providers in a multidisciplinary setting

Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software

programs

Ability to work well independently and in teams

Must be able to maintain equanimity and professional

demeanor in any situation
