THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Electronics Quality Technician reports to the Quality Supervisor on the Operations - Quality Control team. The successful individual in this role will support StreamCaster™ MANET product development and manufacturing. This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA .

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Basic manufacturing failure troubleshooting, understanding of electronic schematics, repair, and root cause analysis.

  • Initial diagnosis testing and basic repair of customer-returned units (RMA).

  • Soldering and use of common soldering equipment and standards.

  • Engineering/R&D electromechanical support – building custom cables, electronics assemblies, and test fixtures.

  • Production test station support – equipment maintenance, repair, and upgrade.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 5 years of experience in an electronics work environment; OR an Associate's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of relevant experience in a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in hand soldering fine pitch lead SMT components.

  • General mechanical skills required – dis/reassemble mechanical sub-assemblies to specification.

  • Experience using a multi-meter to measure multiple electrical properties (i.e., voltage, resistance, etc.).

  • Exposure to the use of hand Irons and hot air rework stations.

  • General PC skills in a Windows environment.

NOTE - Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts. Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers and signal generators).

  • Familiarity with sensitive electronics components and low voltage PCB assemblies.

  • Certified IPC Specialist (CIS).

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics for signal tracing/troubleshooting.

  • Exposure or experience in Linux open-source operating system.

  • Proven experience working in a small, fast paced R&D environment.

  • Experience in a leadership role is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests and/or demonstrations in the field.

  • Lift up to 25 lbs. of equipment for setup of demonstrations and testing.

  • Walking/moving in the labs.

COMPENSATION

The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

CA Pay Range

$31—$35 USD
