About the Role
The primary responsibilities of this position consist of planning and managing large business transition and relocation projects for corporate, life science and/or industrial clientele. This is a lead management position responsible for the overall direction of activities associated with multiple projects along with leading a team move management professionals.
While possessing strong people management skills, written and oral communication skills, this individual must also have the ability to effectively and professionally work with people of various disciplines and levels within a corporate environment, including: real estate, facility management and IT teams, C-level executives, department heads, administrative assistants, and end-users; as well as the project team, including: construction managers, architects, engineers, building managers and physical movers.
Duties include the following:
Overall P & L and service delivery responsibilities for the move management group in the local market
Budget development and management for the local market
Engage internal CBRE team members i.e. Project Managers and Real Estate Brokers to sell the move management service line
Market and sell to external clients including relationship building, RFP responses and presentations in the pursuit of new business opportunities.
Create and manage external contracts and internal engagement letters
Develop roles and responsibilities for CBRE team members including managing resource requirements, staff productivity and growth
Staff management including coaching, performance review management, ongoing training and delivery oversight
Create and manage project pipeline for all team members
Manage hiring process including writing job descriptions, interviewing, negotiating and training
Lead regular staff meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions
Ensure adherence to organization policies, processes, and procedures
Create annual marketing plan and oversee marketing efforts for the local market including email blasts, marketing materials, case studies, etc.
Track project metrics and benchmarking information
Document and share best practices for team growth and adopt changes where needed
Create growth opportunities for staff including cross training, new project types, shared projects, etc
Building existing client relationships through social interactions and ongoing follow up
Support resource sharing between CBRE teams as and when needed to support client requirements
Assist team with developing PowerPoint presentations, complex schedules and other documentation on projects as needed
Develop overall client relocation strategy including a detailed move plan for the entire project and each department impacted by the relocation in order to minimize or eliminate any and all disruptions to client’s business operations
Develop roles and responsibilities for client’s internal team members and external vendors including managing resource requirements
Oversee and lead client’s relocation team
Coordinate and chair move team meetings
Develop communications plan to keep client leadership, move team and end-users informed of move plans and activities leading up to and including the physical relocation
Develop and train a network of departmental move coordinators to service as “conduit” between Move Team and end-users
Develop overall relocation budget and cost tracking for budgets in excess of $30 million
Track and monitor project budget to control project costs
Develop relocation schedule including detailed break-down of major tasks and resources required
Develop project contingency plans
Develop scopes of work for each subcontracted service associated with the relocation – i.e. physical move vendor, IT support vendor, move supplies etc.
Work with client’s procurement and legal departments to develop and issue Requests for Proposal for all move-related vendors
Provide vendor bid analysis and recommendations
Develop move database to track and disseminate end-user move information
Create and provide reporting on internal and external service level agreements and KPI’s
Develop detailed move logistics plan for all move phases
Provide training in the overall move process to internal and external team members
Audit move process for best practices, lessons learned and process improvement

Willingness to work weekends and possibly some holidays
Software Skills: Candidate must have expert command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Project with strong emphasis on managing, editing and manipulating large Excel files and complex Word documents. SmartSheet knowledge and project/form set-up. Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit preferred, but not required.
Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and a minimum ten years of related experience in move management, facility management, interior design, architecture, engineering, or other related field.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $160,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $180,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
