UCLA Health Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery (Inpatient) in Los Angeles, California

Description

This role is for an experienced PA on the Neurosurgery Service in the inpatient setting.

The physician assistant (PA) functions in an interdependent role via a delegation agreement. By using the delegation agreement the PA is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings. The PA will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The PA also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered.

PA Salary range: $74.95- $100.86/hourly

Sr. PA Salary range: $82.4- $110.87/hourly

Qualifications

  • CA PA License and National Board Certification-required

  • Degree from a PA program -required

  • BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association-required

  • ACLS from American Heart Association-required

  • DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required

  • a minimum of 2 years Neurosurgery experience - required

  • Ability to utilize excel, word and other software programs-required

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel-required

  • Skill in working independently and following through with minimum direction-required

  • Ability to set priorities-required

  • Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence-required

  • Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner-required

  • T his position may convert to a Senior PA role based on experience
