UCLA Health Materials Management Specialist - Westwood in Los Angeles, California

Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Logistics, you will support various areas in Materials Management including Laundry & Linen and the Uniform Distribution Center by managing supply; and analytic, quality, and administrative functions. You will also supervise a team of employees to ensure they are performing at excellence and meeting objectives. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Train current and new employees, monitor staff compliance, counsel team members, and evaluate employees' overall performance

  • Maintain inventory, storage, tracking, distribution, and mending of products

  • Gather data and research of new and current products

  • Monitor, review, and control expenditures; responsible for reporting and billing

  • Coordinate with Procurement and collect, enter, analyze data

  • Provide support to Managers on their ongoing efforts of financial viability, performance improvements, and system changes; may be required to assist in special projects as needed

  • Coordinate communication, transportation, and deliveries with internal and external departments

  • Process UCLA Health employees' uniform requests

This position will be cross trained in multiple areas and may work in various UCLA Health sites as needed.

Salary Range: $68,800-$141,000 AnnuallyQualifications

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with...

  • 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working in an acute healthcare setting.

  • Proficient use of computer software, LAWSON, AIS, PAN, MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of implementation and management of materials management information systems.

  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge to recognize 'confidential' issues/information/documents; and ability to retain the corresponding confidential documentation in proper manner.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills with a strong customer service emphasis.

  • Consistently demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Skills in performing with frequent interruptions and under time constraints.

  • Skills in setting priorities that accurately reflect importance of job responsibilities; able to easily adapt to changes in work load and assignments.

  • Ability to adhere to department and UCLA Health policies and procedures.

  • Ability to attend all in-services, workshops, drills, and classes as requested.

  • Ability to work in various UCLA Health sites as needed.
