    Position description

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCLA seeks applications for a full-time (100%) Assistant Researcher in the area of Galactic Center science. Qualified candidates will have a Ph.D. in Astronomy or a related field and a demonstrated background in the methodology building of the HST-Gaia reference frame as well as the kinematics of the Nuclear Star Cluster. The position will involve dynamical modeling of the NCS and incorporation of JWST astrometry. Candidates should provide: a curriculum vita; a statement of research interests; a publication list; a statement of contributions to equity, diversity, and inclusion; and complete a reference check authorization release form. The deadline for applications is July 15, 2024.
